The health of an organisation is based on a number of factors. Clarity of purpose and accountability, solid humanised process and strong leadership are major contributors. Hygiene factors, such harassment free workplaces that remove discriminatory practices, are equally as important.
We use the Six Star Wellbeing survey to baseline organisational health and then develop simple coherent action plans to address key issues. This is a “big company” approach, but it works and we can reproduce it at a fraction of the cost.
Mechanisms that reduce employee stress and provide support when necessary all contribute to organisational health and improve general employee wellness.
Discrimination and harassment is corrosive. The last five years has seen much change and the rejection of both across all parts of society. The reality is that discrimination and harassment still exist in some workplaces. Strong and clear policies, strong uncompromising leadership and a culture of non-acceptance are increasingly important and are fundamental to organisational health.
Work can be stressful and when stress is not managed it can wear us down and impair judgement. Providing an awareness of, and an outlet for stress greatly improves employee wellness. Not all stress is work related, but all stress will impair work performance. Having well thought out and affordable systems of support contributes to a healthier workforce. We believe that healthy organisations combine with a healthy workforce to produce unstoppable results. The real question is how to achieve this with SME resources. We can offer practical solutions that are affordable.
We believe organisational health is often overlooked, or the view is that great leadership solves all problems. Leadership indeed solves many issues but can be amplified with a little systemic effort.
